Board of Supervisors
Regular meetings of the Board of Supervisors occur on the second Thursday of the month. From April through October, the meetings begin at 7AM and from November through March, the meetings begin at 1PM. All meetings are held at the District office (2211 W Dolarway Rd, Ste 4, Ellensburg) unless otherwise stated. Meeting minutes and agenda may be viewed here.
Mark Moore, Chair (elected term expires 2025)
Mark is a farmer in the northeast part of the Kittitas Valley operating the Flying Diamond Ranch with his family.
Lynn Brown, Vice Chair (appointed term expires 2026)
Lynn is a farmer in the Reecer Creek area. He is retired from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service as the Washington State Conservationist.
Jeff Brunson, Auditor (elected term expires 2027)
Jeff is a farmer operating Broadmoor Farms with his wife south of Ellensburg in the Kittitas Valley.
Bill Boyum, Member (appointed term expires 2025)
Bill is a landowner in Kittitas County and is retired from Washington Department of Natural Resources as the Southeast Region Manager.
Matt Eslinger, Member (elected term expires 2026)
Matt is a farmer in the Denmark area of the Kittitas Valley operating Eslinger Farms with his family.
Board Meeting Schedule
Monthly Board meetings are the second Thursday of each month. From April to October, the meetings are at 7:00 AM and November through March, the meetings are at 1:00 PM. Meetings are held at the District Office, 2211 W Dolarway Road, Ellensburg WA 98926 (Click here for directions).

District Staff
Anna Lael (District Manager)
Anna joined the KCCD in 1997. She grew up on a farm in the Kittitas Valley. Anna is a graduate of Kittitas High School and Washington State University where she earned a B.S. Natural Resource Management in 1995. Anna oversees all KCCD projects, programs and staff. She is directly responsible to the KCCD Board of Supervisors. She can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext. 7
Sherry Swanson (Project Manager)
Sherry joined the KCCD in 2006. She is an Evergreen State College graduate where she earned a BA in Environmental Studies with a focus on wildlife conservation and agriculture in 1995. Prior to KCCD, Sherry worked as a back country guide in the Teanaway Valley and as a farm planner for the San Juan and King Conservation Districts. Sherry is managing the Manastash Creek Restoration Project and she is a certified conservation planner. She can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext 6.
Mark Crowley (Conservation Planner)
Mark joined the KCCD in 2002. He grew up in Kansas and is a graduate of Washington State University where he earned a B.S. Agricultural Economics in 1992. Mark was the Cattle Manager for the Blue Rock Cattle Company prior to working for the KCCD. He is responsible for the Irrigation Efficiencies Program and various YTAHP projects for the KCCD and he is a certifed conservation planner. Mark can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext. 5.
Brent Dixon (Natural Resource Project Manager)
Brent rejoined the KCCD in 2019. Prior to 2019, he spent more than 3 years working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service as a soil conservationist and five years as a resource technician at KCCD. He is a graduate of Kittitas High School and Washington State University (B.S. Natural Resource Sciences '09). Brent provides GIS support to all KCCD projects and manages projects including the Voluntary Stewardship Program. He can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext 2.
Wendy Mee (Resource Technician)
Wendy joined the KCCD in 2018. She grew up in the Kittitas Valley, graduating from Ellensburg High School. She earned a B.S. in Plant Sciences/Horticulture from Central Washington University in 1998 and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Utah State University in 2002. Wendy worked for 13 years on the Yakima Training Center conducting vegetation assessments and wildlife surveys. Prior to that, she owned her own landscaping business. Wendy assists the KCCD with field data collection, project implementation, and day to day operations. She can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext 4.
Tony Craven (Wildfire Preparedness Project Manager
Tony joined the KCCD in 2024. He has worked in Wildland fire management and on wildfire issues for over 30 years. He has degrees from Yakima Valley Community College and Central Washington University. He will be managing the Community Wildfire Defense Grant awrded to the KCCD through DNR. Miranda Nash (Office Administrator)
Miranda joined the KCCD in 2016 as the Financial Manager. After a brief hiatus in 2022, she rejoined KCCD as a part time Office Administrator in 2023. Miranda manages administrative activities for KCCD and assists the District Manager. She can be reached at (509) 925-3352 ext. 813.
