Notice of Automatic Re-Election and Cancellation of February 12 Election
January 16, 2019 – The Kittitas County Conservation District Board of Supervisors hereby informs the voting public that the incumbent, Mark Moore, has been re-elected to the currently open seat by reason of being the only person filing for the position by the filing deadline of January 15, 2019. Therefore, no poll site, absentee balloting or mail balloting will be performed on February 12, 2019, pursuant to WAC 135-110-370. Notice of Expiring Positions
December 18, 2018 – The Kittitas County Conservation District (KCCD) has two expiring positions on the Board of Supervisors. The Board is made up of five members, three of which are elected locally and the other two are appointed by the Washington State Conservation Commission. One elected position and one appointed position expire in 2019. For more information on how to apply for either position click here.

Second Application Cut-off Date for 5-Year Cost Share Program Announced
ELLENSBURG, Wash. (September 28, 2018) – The Kittitas County Conservation District announces a November 2, 2018 application deadline for the second sign-up period for the “Yakima Integrated Plan- Toppenish To Teanaway” project. This project is a five-year effort to address insufficient water/drought, water quality degradation, and inadequate habitat for fish and wildlife in priority areas in Kittitas County through the USDA’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). The Kittitas County Conservation District is accepting applications immediately. ELLENSBURG, Wash. (August 8, 2018) – Pursuant to the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy and the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003 (H.R. 1904), notice is hereby given that the Kittitas County Conservation District on behalf of Kittitas County Public Works will hold a written public comment period from August 9th, 2018 – August 30th, 2018 for the Kittitas County Community Wildfire Protection Plan update. All written comments will be accepted electronically at email@example.com, submitted via letter dropped off at the Kittitas County Conservation District or received in mail by August 30th, 2018. Kittitas County Voluntary Stewardship Program Work Plan Submitted for Approval
Washington State’s Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP) provides an alternative approach for counties to address Washington State’s Growth Management Act requirements. The program uses a watershed-based, incentive-based process to protect critical areas, promote viable agriculture, and encourage cooperation among diverse stakeholders. Kittitas County submitted their VSP Work Plan to the Washington State Conservation Commission on March 1, 2018. The public is invited to comment on any VSP work plan submitted to the VSP Technical Panel within 14 days of submittal. The public has until March 15, 2018 to comment on the plan. The public can use this public comment form to capture any comments made. The work plan can be accessed from the Conservation Commission’s VSP web page.
